On Wednesday 3 April, a dedicated group of boys shared their developing musical talent and enthusiasm with a packed theatre of family and friends.
The show kicked off with our Jazz Collective, who shared their take on some lush and classic theme tune arrangements. Other group performances included the contemporary sounds of the KS3 ensemble, the swell and swing of our sax group and the bright sureness of our vocal group.
In between, the crowd enjoyed a range of solo and duet pieces on saxophone, violin, bass, drums, and guitar covering a broad range of genres and levels. All
students involved should be very proud of a terrific concert and also of their own personal achievements.

A big thank you to Jackie Davis and her father James O’Kane for the donation of a beautiful Yamaha piano that we now proudly house in the music department. It really is a gorgeous instrument and we are so grateful to Jackie and the family for letting us have it.
James, or Seamus as he was also known, was born in Northern Ireland and grew up in Portrush. He was an architect, artist and fabulous pianist. He would practice on this piano for hours and often sat in the dark playing in tranquility.
He was a very very kind and gentle man but always had a story about everything and told endless jokes and incredible stories. He really was loved by all.
We are hoping that this wonderful gift sparks the same love of music in our students that it clearly had for Seamus throughout his life.
