Winter Recital 2022
We were pleased see a number of our instrumentalists taking part in our final instrumental recital of the year. With solo performances and a few (Christmas) songs from the vocal group it was a great way to bring the term to a close and get ready for the holiday.
There will be a Key Stage 3 instrumental and vocal recital on May 18th which will be open to parents so we hope to see some of these musicians again on a larger stage.
Well done to all of the performers that took part!
Vocal Group Resumes in 2 Weeks
Vocal lessons will take a break for two weeks and will be back on Monday July 11th 2022 for the last two weeks of term. Vocal group will also be back at lunchtimes for these last two weeks.
Lunchtime Music Recitals Return
It was great to see a return to our informal lunchtime music concerts just before the half term break. A number of our music groups gathered to share what they have been working on with an audience of staff and students, and for some of the boys it was their first experience of performing live.
There were performances by the Woodwind Group, the Jazz Collective, and our Hip Hop Orchestra. There was also a solo spot by Torin who performed a wonderful version of Wonderwall on both guitar and vocal.
Well done to all of the boys involved and thank you to our wonderful instrument tuition team that has been working hard to get the musicians prepared.
Our next informal lunchtime concert for students and staff is on Thursday 7th July in room 247.
Lockdown Jazz
Although there was no Jazz Collective concert this year Mr. Lowe kept our brass students busy by preparing and recording a 2021 version of the classic Frank Koessler tune ‘Slow Boat to China’.
Well done to Isaac, Eddie, Caan. George, Hano, Charlie, Leo for your terrific rendition. Though some boys weren’t in school for the video session, they do all feature on the recording,
