The Young And Gifted project gives young musicians (aged 14-18) an opportunity to delve into an intensive musical experience, culminating in a performance at Ronnie Scott’s Jazz Club.
Over the period of a month, roughly twenty young musicians from various communities in South-East London will be given weekly workshops on playing, interpreting and understanding various genres of music. They will be provided with a rehearsal space and mentors to help them prepare music for the performance.
Additionally, inspirational talks on the music industry and life as a musician will be offered to them during this time. At the end of the period, the musicians will showcase their work. A small group of the most hard-working or improved ones, selected by the tutors for their progress over the duration of the course, will be congratulated with small rewards.
Proceeds from the final performance will be collected and donated to a charitable foundation which provides schools with musical instruments.
